Art is creating something out of nothing. Sometimes you take a unique item and sculpt it into something beautiful too. And that is exactly what this artist did with this amazing sculptures.

Meet Yong Ho Ji. An artist who specializes in a variety of sculptures.

His work started at a young age when he started creating “Mutants”.

And slowly went to animal-like sculptures.

The craziest part of his work, all of them are made from tires.

Yes, I said tires.

He takes cut-up pieces of tires and forms them into something breathtaking.

Yong Ho Ji constructs his mutants with surgeon’s precision, employing classic sculptural techniques to achieve the levels of “intense, abnormally muscular form” he strives for.

He sculpts his initial forms out of wire and clay, builds plaster molds, and makes resin forms around which he wraps tire sliced with mat knives

Some of his work was used and displayed in magazines like Vogue

His work has also been displayed in several exhibits around the world.

His work is unique and one of a kind.

And to think they are all made of recycled tires.

Only one word to describe it: Impressive.

These are some of his earlier work, labeled as “Mutants”

Some are human/animal like.

Others, not so much.

Either way it is all incredible.

He took something so simple and made masterpieces. Not just once but several hundreds of times. That is true art to me.
