Kevin says he was incredibly surprised and very distraught when his wife up and left him. She never gave a reason, but she did seem to move on very quick. But when Kevin Cotter’s wife of 12 years packed up and moved out last year, she left behind one very important item in her closet – her wedding dress.
“You forgot something,” Cotter told her.
“And what’s that?” she replied.
“Your wedding dress.”
“Yeah, I’m not taking that.”
“What do you expect me to do with it?”
“Do whatever you want with it,” she said before she drove away.
And that is exactly what he did. Cotter wrote a book on Amazon where he shows 101 awesome and creative ways of putting it to use – from door mat, to scarecrow, to dental floss. Here are just a few of the several things that you can do with an old wedding dress according to Kevin. Take a look at some of his genius wedding dress uses below:
You can use it as a beautiful table-cloth.

A sporting event banner.

You can use it for your favorite sports.

You can also use it as your favorite shoe polish rag.

You can use it as a pasta strainer.

You can use it as an oven mitt so you don’t burn your hands while pulling your bachelor dinners out of the oven.

An oil rag for when you change your oil or work on your car.

A comfortable hammock to take a nap on.

Use it as a gym towel when you work out.

You can use it as a dust cloth when you clean the house.

A door mat for when you go camping is one of many wedding dress uses.

Maybe a dog bed so your dog can be comfortable.

A coffee filter for those mornings that you run out.

A car wash rag that won’t scratch the paint.

And of course, a fancy barber’s mock.

Cotter’s blog has become a viral phenomenon – he appeared on a television show, did numerous shows for local radios stations, and his story went viral.
Kevin Cotter has received plenty of wedding dress use ideas and messages of support, praise and general amusement from all over the world about his wedding dress uses. It is all well deserved after what his ex-wife put him through.
