We have all heard the saying, take the lemons and make lemonade. Or always try to make the best out of a bad situation. Either way, it is so much easier said than done. A Georgia mom did exactly that though.
This is Matthew Freeman. At 29 years old he was a marine and serving our country. After being in Iraq for 3 weeks, he was killed in action.

After such terrible news, Matthews mother decided to do something different.

She started a fund dedicated to her son helping people of less fortunate companies.

But her biggest accomplishment is creating bears out of fallen soldiers uniforms.

Families of the fallen soldiers will send Mrs. Freeman the uniforms and she will make the bears for them.

She stated “I kind of pray over the uniform while I’m going”

Each Bear is unique, but it also holds a very special place in the family members hearts.

The goal is to comfort the youngest members of military families — children, nieces and nephews — after the death of a service member

What an inspiring women. She has taken something tragic and turned it into something beautiful. She said her son would be proud of what she is doing. She has started a foundation called “The Matthew Freeman Project”, their website is here.
