Imagine serving your country just to die alone in a nursing home with no friends or family to celebrate your life or achievements. This nearly happened for Harold Jellicoe Percival who was a veteran Bomber Command Crew in WWII who died a few years ago at the age of 99. Luckily, the nursing home posted an obituary in the local paper and “Coe’s” story was picked up by social media. This veteran died alone but he his death brought tremendous support and his story touched hundreds of people. I am sure the show of support he received would have put a smile on his face!
In hopes of finding someone who may be able to attend the funeral, the story was shared via Twitter.

More people started to share the story.

Then the local newspaper noticed and published a story.

The support Harold Received was astounding!

Hundreds of strangers ending up showing up for his funeral.
