When it comes to taking engagement pictures, most people want something fun and creative. They want something memorable that even their wedding guests will remember. But oftentimes when it’s time to take the actual pictures, they end up with the same boring engagement pictures like everyone else. Maybe they are afraid of what people will think or maybe the idea ends up being too expensive. But that is not what happened for engaged couple, Leiha’aheao Kamahele-Beeck and Maika Dias. They recently relocated to Maui and after talking with their photographer friends, Adam & Shawn-Marie Ravazzano. Being in such a beautiful place, they decided they really wanted to create something that would be unique. Adam & Shawn-Marie own Love and Water Photography in Maui, Hawaii. They were familiar with the area and suggested a unique idea to Leiha’aheao and Maika. When they agreed, they were able to create these majestic underwater engagement pictures.
This is Leiha’oheo Kamahele-Beeck and Maika Dias. Kamahele-Beeck said, “We both enjoy and love the ocean. It’s our sanctuary and our playground. The ocean is also tied to us because of our Hawaiian roots. It gives us life.”

For their engagement pictures, it only made sense for them to be taken in the ocean.

Luckily their good friends Adam & Shawn-Marie Ravazzano were professional photographers and were very open to this idea.

This couple looks like they belong in the ocean, floating, what seems like, effortlessly below the surface.

One thing that made this photo shoot a little easier is that Kamahele-Beeck and Dias are both very experienced divers.

And that is actually how they met… while snorkeling.

Dias was swimming under the water, when he accidentally swam right into Kamahele-Beeck.

I wonder if it was the apology he made that won her over.

The water is a perfect color, offering a picturesque background for this couple.

Even Kamahele-Beeck’s dress takes on a different look in the water, turning it into a weightless piece of art.

She had two separate Joelle Perry wedding dresses so that she could create these pictures without ruining the dress for her wedding day.

One dress was worn during the photo shoot.

While the other dress was worn on her wedding day.

In these pictures you can tell that a lot of time, thought, and effort went into creating these pictures.

Their mutual love of the ocean makes these pictures even more spectacular. They look like they are naturals and belong in the ocean.

Those are some of the most beautiful and unique engagement pictures I have ever seen. They will definitely cherish these pictures for many, many years. When it comes to weddings, what are the most creative engagement pictures you have ever seen? Maybe they had their kids involved or included some of their favorite hobbies? I know that we’ve seen some pretty unique baby announcements, but maybe nothing as unique as these underwater engagement pictures.
