Jardin des Plantes is a large botanical garden located in Nantes, France. It has over 5,000 flowers and 10,000 species.
Inside, you’ll also find a topiary sculpture of a sleeping baby bird titled Poussin endormi which means “sleepy chick”. This foliage that was transformed into an adorable topiary sculpture was done by children’s book author Claude Ponti.

This adorable sculpture was added to the garden in 2014.

As you can see, it’s an adorable, but very large baby bird sleeping.

It even has bamboo as the leg and a yellow beak.

The artist even includes details such as the eyelashes of the sleeping bird.

His work showcases his skill in crafting very creative topiary.



He makes sure to include every detail including the beak, rounded and textures and legs.


Luckily, this sleeping bird isn’t alone. This sleeping koala, Ponti’s La Dormanron is a permanent attraction in the park as well.
