I know that I try not to think about death because honestly, it makes my mind go crazy, my heart start pumping, and then I get depressed. But have you ever thought about putting together a bucket list? This would be a list of the things you want to achieve before your day comes. What would be on this list? Would you want to travel more? Maybe volunteer more? Or maybe try more exotic foods? Some might even say spending more time with their family or even worrying less. Recently a questionnaire was sent to people who were on their deathbed or with not a lot of time left on earth. They were asked what they would do differently if they had another chance at life. Some of these answers changed my life. They make you realize that life is short and to enjoy each moment, because you never know when it is going to be your last. These things dying people say will have you rethink your life.
- Not traveling when you had the chance. Traveling gets harder as you get older, as more people depend on your presence, day-to-day and it ends up becoming more expensive to Brin more people with you.
Wow, some of these I wish I would have read when I was a teenager, especially number 14, “Spending your youth being self-absorbed. There is more to the world than just you and eventually you’ll realize that.” Now that I’m in my 30s, I definitely wish I could grab a teenager by the shoulders and yell this to them. All those selfies that they take mean nothing. There is so much more out there and even our smallest actions may affect someone.
What would you tell someone to do more of or change now if they can? Let us know in the comments below.
