Friends Attach Roman Candles To Drone And It Doesn't Go As Planned

As a kid growing up in the 80’s and 90’s, I am very familiar with Roman Candles and their awesome destructive power. My friends and I used to have wars in the neighborhood around the 4th of July which was not necessarily the smartest idea we ever had. We were young boys having fun without a care in the world. Luckily nobody ever got hurt so I can consider ourselves very lucky. I don’t recommend that anybody try this ever, but we all do something stupid from time to time. Needless to say we all had a huge love for Roman Candles.

As I grew up a little more and started playing with remote-controlled airplanes, the first thing I would do was tape some bottle rockets to the wings, attach a longer fuse, light them, and shoot them off while I was flying. I think this was inspired by one of my favorite movies of all time, Top Gun. Seeing those F-14’s launching missiles from under their wings was an awesome sight that had to be duplicated, minus the years of professional military training and the use of a multi-million dollar aircraft. Now the effect I was able to achieve wasn’t quite as dramatic as the movie but I had a lot of fun none the less. Well there has been a revolution in flying aircraft and remote controls with the recent introduction of consumer available drones! These little flying machines are incredible. They’re easy to fly, they maneuver like you wouldn’t believe, and they usually carry a high-definition camera in order to capture some incredible aerial images and videos. Are you thinking what I’m thinking? Well this group of friends did and they caught it all on film. Yes, they strapped Roman Candles to their drone and started running. Do Not Try This At Home, sit back, and watch these idiots shoot each other with their drone with Roman Candles.

I’m laughing so hard right now. This looks like a lot of fun for the guy controlling the drone but I’m not so sure his friends had as much fun while being shot at with little projectiles of fire. This drone with Roman Candles attached has some decent accuracy and the piloting skills are pretty impressive. A couple of good dodges and a solid hit! I’d say that’s a win for the pilot. I sure hope he goes by the call sign, “Iceman”.  I like that these friends decided to do this while shirtless in what looks like some seriously freezing weather. I would love to see a few of these drones with Roman Candles have a dog fight! Again Don’t Try This At Home, but at least they were wearing some sunglasses.
