Living in a dorm isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be. Making new friends is great, but living with 3 other guys in a cramped space is never fun. I remember my freshman year of college and being super excited to live in a dorm. That excitement quickly turned into loathing hatred. I didn’t like my roommates, and they always seemed to be there. If I could have thought of something to get out of having to go back there every night I would have done it immediately. This kid wasn’t feeling the dorm life either, and wanted something different. So he decided to do something drastic, but amazing! This should be an option for all kids in college. I think a lot of kids today would love this way of life, and it might make for some happier students.
Well, here it is. This kid’s alternative living arrangements. Looks like a normal car. It might, but it definitely isn’t normal.

The simple act of opening the doors reveals an awesome living space this kid built for himself!

How cool is this space? The bed is about 6′ long, which fits the poster (5’11”) perfectly. He has plenty of storage space with the cabinets and cubbies he’s created.

Along this wall he has a place to store his textbooks, some food, and a trash can.

Over here he has access to a laundry hamper that is hidden underneath the table, and some storage containers.

Here has a little more storage, and even an electric stove. Though he says he barely uses it. He also made sure to mention that this was not, in fact, a pee jar.

Some containers to be able to take food. There really doesn’t seem to be shortage of storage space.

Gotta have a place to keep your clothes.

More storage for clothes. You would definitely need a lot of space for this, not having a closet and all.

A view out the back. You definitely need curtains with this sleeping arrangement.

This is what the poster affectionately calls “the basement”.

More of the basement.

He even has his own kitchen table!

A car carrier would definitely be advisable while living like this.

A lot of people have certain questions about living like this. The poster clarified some of the more common ones. He showers at his college gym, he parks his car overnight in any public lot that allows it and he studies at coffee shops and the school library. Living like this is definitely not for everyone. It’s such a different way of living, but it can also teach you a lot of things about yourself and save you tons of money. Hopefully one day I’ll get to experience what this is like.
