Being an artist would be a tough life. Let’s face, not nearly everyone who thinks they have what it takes to be a world-renowned artist, does. It’s just the way it is. Many artists will tell you though, that they honestly don’t ever really care if they became a major player in the art world. They just want to enjoy pursuing their craft and making things they enjoy. Well that’s the path that Romain Langlois started out on. He is a self-taught sculptor, but you wouldn’t know it from looking at his incredible pieces. His sculptures are definitely head turning, and sometimes even a little weird, but they are always something to be admired. Check out what makes them so unique!
The man himself, Romain Langlois. His sculpting career saw him start off by using plaster and clay as his medium, and many of his works were inspired by the human anatomy.
He has since moved on to using more permanent materials, and takes more of their inspiration from nature.
He uses liquid bronze to create what he likes to think of as the inner energy of the materials he uses.
It literally looks like someone ripped these minerals apart.
These definitely don’t look like anything else you’d find on planet Earth.
This piece seems to combine his old inspiration of human anatomy with his new materials.
I honestly can’t tell if this is a real piece of bark, or if it’s a sculpture.
It’s like you’re really looking inside these materials.

I love what this artist does with liquified bronze. It truly does seem like you are looking at the innards of these materials. How he came up with the idea to use the materials is beyond me, but they certainly work well together. I’m not the type of person who would normally buy art, but I would definitely purchase one of these for my home.
