Meet ‘Lady in a Fur Coat’, the sweet kitty known for her love of cuddles and head bumps. Lady found herself at the Dane County Humane Society with recurring hematoma and chronic infections in her ears. To alleviate her suffering, veterinarians at the shelter decided to remove her ears which left her looking a little different.
Ash Collins, an employee at the shelter was worried that the kitty would have a difficult time being adopted due to her new look. So she put her crochet skills to work and made the sweet feline a stylish set of new ears. With some coaxing and lots of treats, Lady fit into her new purple ears.

“It’s amazing because we see these strays and medical cases come in and I think we’re always surprised by their resiliency,” said shelter spokesperson Marissa DeGroot.

“I was more than happy to use my crochet skills to help Lady stand out and get the second chance she deserved, and I’m so honored to be a small part of her happy ending.” We think you are a true hero, Ash Collins!

Lady’s new look was so incredibly adorable that just hours after the shelter shared Lady’s story to their Facebook page, she found her fur-ever home.

Lady accrued quite the following on Facebook and had more than a few supporters.

Her supporters were so happy to see the beautiful kitty get the care and love she deserved.
