Throughout history there have been multiple events that have happened that cannot be explained by anyone. They just happen to be a series of strange coincidences, and you have to accept that fact or you’ll drive yourself absolutely insane. We’ve researched 17 strange coincidences that have no explanation, not matter how you look at it. Check out these strange coincidences.
The two people circled in the below picture are Aimee Maiden and Nick Wheeler. They were set to be married and were visiting Nick’s grandparents where they were looking through photo albums. They found this photo of Nick at a beach in Cornwall, England. When they took a closer look, Aimee noticed that it was her in the background. This picture was taken 11 years before they were set to marry. They ended up getting married on the same beach where the picture was taken.

James Dean died in a terrible car accident in September 1955 while driving his Porsche. After the accident, things started happening that couldn’t be explained and the car itself was declared extremely unlucky. When the car was being towed away from the accident, it was taken to a garage. While at the garage, the engine fell out of the car, crushing the legs of the mechanic working on the car. The engine was sold to a doctor who put it in his race car. The doctor then died in a race accident. The garage that the Porsche was repaired in ended up being destroyed by a fire. As if that wasn’t enough, the Porsche was on display at a museum. While on display, it fell off the mount and broke the hip of a teenager there to view the car. After this incident, the car was being towed to Oregon, where it fell off the tow bar and crashed through the front of the shop it was parked in front of. All of these things added up seem like a lot of terrible coincidences. But in 1959, the car was sitting on steel supports where it was found broken into 11 pieces.

In the below picture is Lee Harvey Oswald, the man who assassinated President John F. Kennedy. He used the Texas School Book Depository as his lookout spot and this is where he shot the president from. But did you know that only a month earlier, he had gotten a job at this same location? I’m guessing this was all part of his bigger plan.

Mark Twain is a very famous American author. He was born on November 30, 1835. This just so happens to be the first day that Halley’s Comet appeared that year. When Twain passed away in 1910, it was also the first day of Halley’s Comet for that year. He actually predicted this would happen in 1909 when he said, “I came in with Halley’s Comet in 1835. It is coming again next year, and I expect to go out with it.”

We all know that the Titanic was a very large cruise ship that was supposedly unsinkable. But then it hit a large iceberg in the Atlantic Ocean and sank. That was in 1912. The strange coincidence began in 1898 when Morgan Robertson wrote a book called Futility. In this book, he wrote about a ship similar to the Titanic, but it was called the Titan. This ship was also unsinkable, but in the book it struck an iceberg and sunk. In the book, this incident took place the very same month that the Titanic sunk.

In 2007, Michael Dick who is pictured along with his two daughters, was traveling around the UK in search of his long-lost daughter, Lisa. She was 31 years old and he had lost contact with her 10 years prior. He got in touch with the local paper, Suffolk Free Press, and they agreed to help him spread the word about his search. They took a picture of Michael and his daughters for the article they were going to post in the newspaper. After seeing the article in the paper, Lisa reached out so she could be reunited with her dad. But when looking at the picture, they noticed that Lisa was in the background of the picture taken for the paper! Lisa said, “I was completely shocked. Me and my mum had been standing in that exact place where the picture was taken about a minute earlier, and you can see us in the picture walking away. It is incredible.”

You may not have heard of Tamerlane, but he was a warlord in Asia in the 14th century. He had many brilliant military ideas and he gained control over large areas of Asia. However, his wars also caused the deaths of at least 17 million people. After Tamerlane’s death, Joseph Stalin, the dictator of the Soviet Union at the time, ordered for the tomb of Tamerlane to be opened by a team of archeologists. When they opened the tomb, they were welcomed by an eerie inscription on the inside of the tomb. It read, “Whoever opens my tomb shall unleash an invader more terrible than I.” Within hours, the Germans invaded the Soviet Union. Stalin decided in 1942 that Tamerlane’s remains should be put back into the tomb with full burial rights. Soon after he was laid back to rest, the German army surrendered at Stalingrad.

Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 crashed in eastern Ukraine in July 2014. One strange coincidence that was pointed out by New York Times journalist, C.J. Chivers was that, “Haunting: Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777, Reg 9M-MRD, made 1st flight on 7-17-97. It met its end 17 years later, to the day-aviation official.” So that meant that this plane had been flying for 17 years exactly. Have you also noticed how many 17s and 7s are reflected in this horrific accident? As if that wasn’t enough, do you remember the story about Dutch cyclist, Maarten De Jonge? He is a member of Malaysia’s Terengganu Cycling Team. In March of 2014, he was supposed to catch Malaysia Airlines flight MH370. This was the same flight and plane that went missing in March. He certainly dodged a terrible demise in March. But he was also supposed to be on Malaysia Airlines flight MH17, when he noticed there was a cheaper flight that arrived slightly later, he changed his flight to a different time, once again cheating death!

In Erdington, England there were two women who lived during completely different times, 157 years apart. Barbara Forrest and Mary Ashford were both killed in a horrific manner. Their bodies were found only about 300 yards apart on the same day, May 27. But remember, this happened 157 years apart. The men accused of these horrific murders of both women had the same last name of Thornton and both of them were acquitted of their crimes. Some other strange coincidences were that the women were both 20 years old when murdered and they shared the same birthday! Both women had visited a friend the evening they were killed. They had changed into brand new dresses the night they were killed and also went to a dance the night they were killed.

We’ve seen a lot of stories about people searching for their long-lost parents or even siblings. This story is just insane though! When these siblings were just three months old, Rosie Davies had been given up for adoption. She was eventually taken in by a foster family, where she spent the rest of her young life. Over time, she found that she had three brothers. She was able to find two of them easily, Sid and John. But she could not find the younger brother, Chris. After continuing her search, she found out that Chris was actually living across the street from her with his family. They had known each other for about three months when she found out they were related. Not only was Rosie trying to find Chris. But Chris was also searching for Rosie.

September 11, 2001 was a terrible day in US history. Many lives were destroyed by these attacks. But a couple from Birmingham, England can thank their lucky stars. Jason and Jenny Cairns-Lawrence love to travel, but may be changing their ways soon. They witnessed three separate international terrorist attacks in a total of 7 years. They were in New York when the Twin Towers were struck on September 11, 2001. But then in 2005, they were also in London when there were a series of attacks on the Tube trains and a bus which killed 52 civilians. If that wasn’t enough, they were also in Mumbai in November 2008 when there was a large, coordinated shooting and bombing spree throughout the city. Jenny said, “It’s a strange coincidence. The terror attacks just happened when we were in the cities.”

When compared, there are a lot of strange coincidences between John F. Kennedy and Abraham Lincoln. When listed all together, it’s a little crazy to think about. They were elected to Congress 100 years apart. Lincoln was elected in 1846 and Kennedy was elected in 1946. They were also elected as President 100 years apart; Lincoln in 1860 and Kennedy in 1960. They were both assassinated by Southerners, both shot on a Friday, and both shot in the head. They were also killed by two people with three names and those names each had 15 letters. After being assassinated, their successors had the last name of Johnson. Andrew Johnson replaced Lincoln and Lyndon Johnson replaced Kennedy. That’s a lot of coincidences between the two of them.

When watching The Wizard Of Oz, you may notice that Frank Morgan plays the taxi driver in Emerald City, the fortune-teller Professor Marvel, and of course the Wizard Of Oz himself. When they were debating on the costume for Professor Marvel, they decided they wanted him to look down on his luck. They found a very nice coat that was just a little bit tattered. During the filming, Morgan pulled out one of the pockets and noticed there was some wording written on the inside of that pocket. The name on the pocket was L. Frank Baum, who just so happens to be the author of The Wizard Of Oz. Thinking this was a joke, they contacted Baum’s widow and also his tailor, and they confirmed that this was in fact L. Frank Baum’s jacket.

King Louis XVI of France was not a big fan of the 21st day of any month. It was just not his day! When he was young, an astrologer warned him to always be on guard on the 21st day of the month. This was terrifying for King Louis, but he didn’t listen and was not always on guard. On June 21st, 1791, after the French Revolution, King Louis and his queen were arrested while trying to escape France. On September 21st, 1791, France decided to get rid of their royalty and became a republic. Which in turn lead to January 21st, 1793, the day that King Louis XVI was beheaded from a guillotine.

Anne Parrish, who was an American novelist, was visiting a bookstore in Paris in the 1920s. She found a book that was one of her childhood favorites, Jack Frost and Other Stories. She decided to look through the book and even showed her husband, telling him about the memories she had of the book when she was just a kid. Her husband took the book from her and started looking through it as well. When he opened the cover, he noticed that written inside was the wording, “Anne Parrish, 209 N. Weber Street, Colorado Springs”. This was Anne’s very own book from when she was a child. I sure hope she bought it.

In 1975, a man riding a moped in Bermuda was struck by a taxi and killed. One year later, this man’s brother was riding the same moped his brother was on when he was killed. He was then struck by a taxi and died from his injuries. The coincidence is that it was the same tax driver and even the same passenger in the taxi that were involved in this accident.

Norman Mailer was an American novelist who started working on a book called Barbary Shore. When writing the book he began to introduce a minor character that would be a Russian spy in the US. As the book continued, this character became more prominent. Soon after the novel was complete, US Immigration Services stormed Mailer’s apartment building and arrested a man who lived on the floor above Mailer. The person arrested was Colonel Rudolf Abel, who was accused of being a top Russian spy who was working in the US.

Some of these are just too eerie, like the two brothers who were killed a year apart by the same taxi driver. Or all of the strange coincidences that Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy have in common. This goes to show that you should always be aware of your surroundings. I wonder how many coincidences there are in my life that I just haven’t found out about yet.
