It’s always amazing to see two animals, especially when they are of different species, get along like two peas in a pod. Some of my favorite bizarre animal relationships are between a dog and a squirrel. Have you ever seen a squirrel bury his nuts? How about in a dog’s fur? Bernese Mountain dogs are some of the fluffiest canines around, and one squirrel jumped at the opportunity to use all that fur to his advantage. It was a good effort, but I think next time he’ll choose a more secure place to bury his nuts. I couldn’t stop laughing at that poor dog’s face!
That poor dog just looked confused and his expression said, “Hey, what are you doing? Why would you do that?” How was that dog supposed to tell the squirrel that his fur was not a hiding spot for his winter stash of nuts? Squirrels are pretty funny when you can catch them on camera doing hilarious things. Anytime that I start to think that squirrels and their tiny brains are underestimated, they go and try to bury their nuts in a dog’s fur.
