This beautiful and witty project held in nursing homes across Germany shows us that having fun has little to do with your age. The retirement community released an entertaining calendar of nursing home residents who have reenacted scenes from iconic Hollywood movies. Costumes, wigs and make-up helped transform the models into famous movie stars – from James Dean and Audrey Hepburn to Marilyn Monroe and Patrick Swayze.
The “movie stars” have entered scenes from famous movies like “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” “The Seven Year Itch” and “Saturday Night Fever.” The only difference, of course, is that these “movie stars” are between 75 and 98 years of age.
“James Bond”: Wilhelm Buiting, 89

“Blues Brothers”: Margarete Schmidt 77 and Lothar Wischnewski 76

“Saturday Night Fever”: Irmgard Alt, 79 and Siegfried Gallasch, 87

“Mary Poppins”: Erna Schenk, 78

“Rocky”: Erwin J. von der Heiden, 80

“Easy Rider”: Walter Loeser, 98 and Kurt Neuhaus, 90

“Titanic”: Erna Rütt, 86 and Alfred Kelbch, 81

“Breakfast at Tiffany”: Marianne Brunsbach, 86

“The Seven Year Itch”: Ingeborg Giolbass, 84 and Erich Endlein, 88

“Dirty Dancing”: Johann Liedtke, 92 & Marianne Pape, 79

“Giants”: Joanna Trachenberg, 81, und Horst Krischat, 78

“Cabaret”: Martha Bajohr, 77

Unfortunately, most of us will only be able to enjoy these pictures digitally, because the calendar won’t be for sale. It was created simply as a gift for nursing home residents, employees and family members. All we can do is hope that we are at least half as awesome as they are when we’re their age.
