You’d probably be lying if you said you never had the desire of having a secret door in your house that would lead to your own private getaway. I know I have ever since I was a kid. I always wanted a secret room built into the wall or under a set of stairs. An awesome getaway that would seemingly seal you off from the world where no one could bother or interrupt you. I was doing some electrical work on a customers house once and saw that the bookshelf looked slightly odd. I gave the trim on the bookcase a little tug and lo and behold there was a secret safe behind it. It was one of the coolest things ever. I was incredibly excited that I discovered it in the first place, but I was also excited about how easy it would be to make. Let’s be real, we all enjoy our privacy, our solitude if you will, from time to time. If you live with roommates or a wife and kids, you know how impossible this can be. Imgur user BaconJacobs wanted a place he could unwind and relax after a long day. A place that would allow him to escape the day-to-day hustle and bustle of life. He broke out his tools and got to work on creating one awesome place that would do just that. The coolest part is that it is completely hidden behind a bookcase. Nobody would ever know unless they were invited by the builder himself. Let’s take a look at whats behind this secret bookcase.
By looking at the secret bookcase you’d never know that it was the entrance to a secret room. It’s decorated in random novelties and decorations like anyone might have. The types of decorations might give you a hint as to what’s behind the secret bookcase.

It was the perfect amount of space for his vision. The white insulation board on the wall is the old coal chute. He props it open and sets a fan in it which ventilates the cigar smoke. The electric fireplace can run fake fire or two levels of space heating. This makes the winters in the old coal cellar very warm and toasty.

I’ve always wanted a secret door leading to a hidden room in my house. I had always thought of a room to keep my valuables but a cigar lounge would be so much better! Most houses where I live have a coal chute under the front porch that would make a perfect entry to a hidden room requiring very little work. I always looked at these rooms as just a small space for storage but this guy has opened up a whole realm of possibilities with his secret bookcase cigar lounge.
