Inside The President’s Car, The Beast

We all know that the president travels in style when it comes to Air Force One. The plane contains its own pharmacy, enough storage for about 2,000 meals, along with a lot of security features that are extremely classified. Did you know that Air Force One can be refueled mid-flight, similar to the B2. This is a great feature, especially during a security crisis. But have you ever thought about the car that the U.S. President travels in? That would need to be extremely secure and safe as well. The car the president travels in is known as Cadillac One, which seems pretty fitting when it comes to presidential transportation. But it’s all of the security features that Cadillac One has to offer our Commander-in-Chief that really set it apart from anything else in the world. Recently, they released pictures of Cadillac One and all it had to offer. Keep in mind, this car is worth $1.5 million!

The Beast was designed by the Secret Service. They started at the bottom and worked their way up, making sure every square inch of this car is impenetrable especially when it comes to weapons such as bullets and bombs.

The President doesn’t just have one of these cars though. He actually has 12 that are in rotation. That way he can have one everywhere he goes. When not in use, the cars are stored at the Secret Service headquarters. And of course, they are under 24-hour surveillance. Honestly, why wouldn’t they be.

To ensure the safety of the president, The Beast travels with at least two other cars. You can tell that it’s already a monster of a car, but to keep up with its name, it also gets a whole 3.7 miles to the gallon.

Typically the presidential motorcade is surrounded with up to 45 armed vehicles. This includes being escorted by local police, an identical decoy for The Beast, a mobile communications center, and an ambulance. They really are prepared for anything that might happen.

Because the car is a Cadillac, it was manufactured by General Motors in Detroit, Michigan. It has a V-8 gasoline engine.

When traveling in The Beast, it would definitely put your mind at ease knowing all of the safety features and specs, not to mention all of the security it also contains such as the tear gas cannons along with who knows what else.

It makes sense why the President of the United States would need such a secure vehicle. It’s interesting all the thought and time that went into designing a vehicle like this. I’m sure he’s not the only leader in the world to own something along these lines.
