Cats are pretty incredible creatures. Cats are incredibly smart and independent making them easy companions to live with. Many people will argue that cats are in fact the best companions in the world. They all but take care of themselves, they usually love to cuddle and they have personalities bigger than the largest lions of Africa. Kittens are adorable and as they grow we love them even more. They become a part of our lives and their mischievous behavior becomes infectious and annoyingly adorable. Cats are already pretty awesome but we just stumbled across what is quite possibly the cutest breed of cat I think I’ve ever seen. These cats are so fluffy you won’t believe it. They’re known as Selkirk Rex aka ‘Poodle Cats’ and they are absolutely adorable!
These cats have a genetic quirk that gives them extremely fluffy and curly hair.
They even have curly whiskers!
They can be long or short-haired.
They are born in a variety of colors but share one very noticeable trait,
The adorable shaggy curls!
Even the grumpy ones look like they need a huge hug.
Unlike poodle dogs, poodle cats do shed a lot.
They are not recommended for anyone who suffers from any allergies.
You might end up looking like this one.
But they definitely do resemble the coat of a poodle or even a sheep perhaps.
It’s almost like someone gave a normal cat a perm.
Poodle cats are known for being very calm and relaxed.
They’re also very playful and great with people or other animals.
Poodle cats are one of the most expensive cat breeds out there right now because of the unique coats and gentle personalities.
They can range between $500-800 but are guaranteed to make anyone say “Awwwww”
They have become increasingly popular recently as more and more people are becoming aware of the fluffy felines.
They got their name from the Selkirk Mountains in Wyoming where the first litter was born in 1987.
A gene mutation caused the curly hair and it was found to be a dominant trait. It has now been passed on to many generations.
The Selkirk Rex cats are also becoming very popular in Canada where they are also known as a sheep cat.
It’s easy to see why they are so popular. They are adorable.
They average 16 lbs and live roughly 13 years. They love attention but require a lot of grooming.
They are perfect family pets because they are so gentle and personable.
They still have the large personalities of a frisky feline.
