A two-year-old pit bull named Mama Pickles was found wandering the streets and very pregnant. Animal control officers located her owners and things took a heartbreaking turn. Her owners said that they didn’t want her anymore and left her and her unborn babies at the local animal shelter. She was so pregnant that the shelter was not able to properly house a pit bull in her pregnant state. She deserved a better place.
Mama Pickles was abandoned in a very pregnant state. The shelter was unable to help a female dog and her puppies properly and located a specialty shelter that could care for this beautiful mother.

Pits And Giggles Rescue cares for maternity rescue care. They save pregnant and nursing dogs from he shelters and provide them the care they need to bring babies into the world.

Lauren is a very talented and big-hearted photographer behind Enchanted Hills Photography and volunteers to take pictures of the rescue dogs to help them find a forever home. Pits And Giggles reached out to Lauren and told her about Mama saying she was the proudest mom they’d seen and they wanted to capture the precious moments.

Everyone who helped with the photo shoot was in love with seeing Mama and her babies. She was so proud and couldn’t stop wagging her tail and showing off her puppies.

Right after the first photo shoot, Mama Pickles gave birth to her puppies.

She delivered 8 perfect female puppies and of course they had to do a follow-up photo shoot. Her smile seemed even bigger and more proud than before. Everyone loves a happy dog rescue story and people on social media are in love with Mama Pickles’ photo shoot.

Every rescue dog should have a photo shoot. This photo shoot was definitely special.

Thankfully the Pitts And Giggles Rescue came to her aid to care for her newborn babies.

A smile only a proud mother could produce, that’s for sure.

I can’t imagine just how many pregnant female dogs are left alone in a shelter. Such a beautiful story gives me faith in humanity.
