Can you think back to a time when you’ve made a bet with someone who you instantly regretted as soon as the outcome was NOT in your favor? I know I have! Well I have that feeling pretty much any time I place a bet of any kind, whether the punishment is losing money or having to do something a little embarrassing. Thanks to the internet, there are endless amounts of bet ideas for that next bet you have coming up. Some of the best bets I’ve seen involve getting a terrible haircut. I’m always amazed at what some people will do to their hair just to follow through with a bet. Well this is the story of Hansel Qiu. He’s a 20-year-old student at the University of Canada and you’re about to see his pineapple hair that he had done all thanks to a bet he made with his cousin.
After losing a bet with his cousin, the loser had to get their hair cut like a pineapple.
Qiu explains how the whole bet came around, “Here’s a bit more background on the bet, in the beginning of the school year as motivation for school/fitness, my cousin and I decided to have a GPA/pushup bet.”
He continues, “She ended up getting a 4.0 across the board, which I wasn’t even close to.”
“Luckily she’s a pretty artistic and talented kind soul who IMO made my hair pretty cool,” finishes Qiu.
The bet was that the winner could do whatever they wanted to the other person’s hair.
That’s a lot on the line!

Honestly if anyone could pull it off, it’s Hansel Qiu. It doesn’t look all that bad!

With the internet full of trolls, it’s awesome that Hansel Qiu got a lot of love with his haircut. And the commenters are right, very few people could get away with this haircut, but I think he pulls it off well. I think the pineapple shirt helps a lot too. I’m glad he is embracing this bet with a full photo shoot too! His grandchildren will get a kick out of this haircut 50 years from now.
