Have you been dreaming about a quaint little getaway. Somewhere where you can draw inspiration, gather your thoughts or even just clear your head? A beautiful place nestled among the trees at the end of a long dirt road? Well you’re in luck because a Craigslist ad was just posted and it might just be the ideal place for you. That is if you can get past the fact that it is an old church with no plumbing and a rather unique backyard. This old church is being sold for an amazing price but it’s no surprise that people aren’t throwing themselves into a bidding war for it. Take a look at this old church for sale and you decide if you could live here.
From the front it looks like a beautiful old church nestled amongst the trees. It even has a working bell tower! An artist purchased the church with the plan of converting it into his home.

The remodel on the inside has already started with updated electrical and new furniture in place of pews. He had plans to convert the priests rooms on the sides of the altar into a kitchen and bathroom.

Here is the inside when he bought it. I wonder what he did with all those awesome pews. They would make for some cool DIY projects.

The church is 2,500 square feet and has a basement and a huge two-story bell tower that actually works. He’s asking $99,000 for the entire property and the only drawback is that it still needs plumbing. He has already drawn the permits, it just needs a little elbow grease.

Oh yea just one more catch. There is a 1920’s cemetery in the back yard! That’s right, a cemetery which is located next to the outhouse you would be using until you had plumbing installed.

He had great plans for the renovation of this old church for sale however financial setbacks have forced him to give up on this project.

Personally I think living in an old church would be awesome. The architecture and the character would be enough to make an old church for sale very appealing to almost anyone. No plumbing is an obstacle I think I would be able to overcome with a little labor and ingenuity. The problem is the dozens of buried bodies in the backyard. I don’t think I would be able to sleep very well knowing there is a potential zombie threat right outside of my bedroom window. I don’t know if you’ve ever been to the Catskills of New York but on a cold foggy day it is already a pretty uniquely creepy place to be. Add an old cemetery to the setting and no thanks and NO WAY!
