Sometimes there is no better therapy than a cold drink on a warm beach. Many believe that it is really the best medicine for the soul and I can’t argue that. Not everyone gets to enjoy the beach every day but it leaves people looking forward to something. The waves and the giant blue abyss somehow entrance us and calm everything down. We could all use a little beach in our lives, especially during the winter months, and two artists came together to form something mesmerizing. Works of art that bring the most realistic beach you’ve seen into your home without actually getting wet. Jared Davis is a wood worker who contacted Rivka Wilkins based on her Instagram photos. He wanted to collaborate and their blend of styles made something stunning. Take a look.
With a combination of very talented woodworking paired with resin pouring, incredibly realistic ocean wave scenes are formed.
This makes for the most realistic looking ocean wave and beach scenes you could imagine.
Davis the woodworker starts with selecting the perfect live edge wood slab. He cuts it to size and ships it off to Rivka. She works her magic using many different resin pouring techniques that create waves on the slab. She ships it back and Davis creates legs and finishes the product.
You might think you’d be able to tell the difference by zooming in but you’d be wrong. Her technique has been perfected.
“It just seems like a supernatural pairing of two things that we find in nature. Although the resin isn’t actual water, Rivka creates the effect better than almost anybody. So seeing those waves follow the natural curves of the live edge slab which mimic the natural curves of a shoreline is truly unique.”
If you want a table or a bench, it will set you back roughly $2,000 but the time and talent invested into these is notable.
Each one is unique in its own way showcasing both artists skills.
The end result is incredible and looks exactly like you’re standing overhead looking down at the ocean crashing on the shore as it gets deeper and deeper
Davis started making reclaimed wood projects as a hobby while he was in college for engineering and everything just took off from there.
You can get a matching table with a bench but you’d be on quite the waiting list in order to get one.
The depth in the resin is awesome. I wonder how many different colors it takes to create this effect.
I also really appreciate that two people came together to create these gorgeous works of art.
These perfect ocean scenes might just warm you up and hold you over until your next beach vacation.
No matter what your day is like, you can always go home and take a quick escape to the beach.
At this angle you can really see just how deep the resin edges are. Making these ocean scenes must take forever.

I don’t know if I would let anyone sit on the bench for fear of someone scratching it. Not to mention the $2k price tag. I do know that I love this collaboration. Two brilliant concepts coming together to create something that expresses the beauty and power of nature.
