Thousands Of Stickers Are Given To Thousands Of Kids In An All White Room

After I saw this art project, I want this to come to a town near me. At a Queensland Gallery of Modern Art, artist Yayoi Kusama created this masterpiece. It begins with one furnished room. It’s painted all of the same color, including the walls, chairs, tables, piano, EVERYTHING! This room was painted white. Then they place a huge stack of multi-colored stickers near the entrance and art-goers can take a sheet of stickers and place them wherever they would like. Over the course of 2 weeks, this room is completely transformed into what is known as “The Obliteration Room”.

And so it begins. Just a room where every single item is white.

It starts with just one sticker.

And then another sticker.

And over time, the stickers begin to accumulate into a colorful mess.

It’s already starting to change form.

Now that’s a lot of color.

And ta-da! What a fun project this would be to design and participate in!

I would love to see this in person. I bet it is so intriguing to be the artist that helps create this because you can see it from the beginning to the end.
