On Tuesday, Merriam-Webster announced that 1700 new words would be added to the dictionary. Some of the words have been used since 1930, so it seems only appropriate to finally be added to the dictionary. Other words make me wonder and also make me fear for the future of our society. According to their website, Merriam-Webster states, “It’s grown by more than 1,700 entries, and existing entries have expanded by more than 700 new senses. We’ve added 3,200 examples that provide contextual information, and another 200 entries for some of the words people most frequently look up have been updated and enhanced.” Check out these 22 words that were recently added:

This is just a small list of the many words that were added to the dictionary. You can view the entire list here. Do you agree with the words on the list? Some of them I agree, they are far overdue and should have been added years ago. Others, I am still shocked at the way our society is headed.
