Slinky’s are a whole lot of fun. Do you remember getting your first slinky? I do and it was pretty awesome. I remember going to the concrete stairs at the back of our house for what seemed like hours playing with it. Back in the day when we didn’t have all the electronics kids have today Slinky’s were pretty entertaining. The only flaw was running out of stairs. You would have to go to the bottom, grab it, and then run back to the top of the stairs to do it all over. Then again, that was pretty good exercise I suppose. Some kids were lucky and had bigger flights of stairs then others. And some kids were more creative than others and made their own steps for their Slinky’s to slink on. Well this guy solves the whole problem of running out of stairs all together, and it is pretty genius.
As he is putting this all together it kind of reminds me of a Jacob’s Ladder meets a Slinky. You can tell it took a lot of time and patience to work on this project. It would be interesting to know exactly how many hours it took. And how many times he failed and kept on going. I think it would be fun to have a mini mechanical version sitting on your desk. It takes a lot of skill to make something like this. The wood working alone is amazing.
