The wild can be a scary place for a baby animal. It’s rare though that a baby elephant would have to worry about predators considering their sheer size from birth. That’s not the case for this little fella in South Africa. Read below to see this crocodile attacks elephant.
This little baby elephant was down at the watering hole in South Africa grabbing a drink in the hot sun.
The elephant was away from its mother and the rest of the herd of elephants.
All of a sudden a crocodile sprung from the water and latched on to the baby’s trunk. As the baby elephant panicked, the rest of the herd knew what to do.
The matriarchal mother and the rest of the herd rushed to the water’s edge to protect their young baby and guarded her as they crossed the river.
Besides some cuts and bruises, this little baby elephant will be just fine. The poor little fella was absolutely terrified and thought that was the end of its life. The love of a mother means she will protect you no matter what and this little baby is lucky that the herd was so close. I doubt the crocodile knew what hit him when a herd of gigantic elephants came rushing down ready to fight. Needless to say he made the right decision of letting go.
