Being an artist is not something everyone is capable of. Some us just don’t have that creative side to create beautiful masterpieces. There are so many unique artists who create their art out of something so ordinary, but the final result is almost breathtaking.

That is exactly what Max Zorn is doing.

Although they look like normal works of art, they are not what they appear to be.

All of his works of art are created entirely of brown packing tape.

Yes, you saw that correctly, these beautiful masterpieces are made from only tape.

According to his site he states, “The material I use is brown packing tape, which I stick on layers of thin acrylic glass sheets. The more layers of tape I add, the darker the shades on the artwork become. The different shades of brown allow me to shape out my scenes and portraits. I use an ordinary scalpel or X-Acto knife to cut and shape the layers of tape. The last thing I need is a lit window.”

And how exactly and why did he come up with this idea?

“There’s a lot of great street art by day, but it disappears after dark. I wanted to come up with urban art that uses nighttime as a setting, and there was nothing more inviting than the street lamps in Amsterdam.”

It’s amazing to me that such a simple idea,

Can create unbelievable pieces of art.
