Brian Mcguinn was definitely in the dog house after his HUGE mistake. He accidentally tossed his wife’s diamond wedding ring in the trash and set it out for garbage day. By the time he had realized what happened it was too late and the garbage truck made it to the garbage facility. Obviously Brian’s wife was not too happy with this and, considering the cost of the ring, Brian was sweating too. There was only one thing to do.
Brian headed down to the local garbage dump and told the workers what had happened. The workers said have at it and Brian started digging.

He had to dig through 9 tons of garbage. This must have taken forever.

He singled out where his trash might have most likely been.

After digging for hours and finding where his trash was located he became a little more hopeful.

SUCCESS! He spotted a glimmer in a pile of sludge pressed between two garbage bags. He said the smell was unbearable and actually threw up a bit.

His wife started crying when she found out what had happened but Brian wasn’t about to give up. He eventually found his wife’s $10,000 ring and put a huge smile right back on her face.

Brian’s wife says her husband is her hero and has brownie points for quite some time now. But didn’t he lose it in the first place?

Either way this story has a very happy ending! I sure hope they sent that ring to the cleaners….Twice!

What a lucky find in the end. I can’t imagine I would have the stomach, or the patience to dig through that much trash to find my wife’s wedding ring. It’s impressive that Brian did not give up when the odds seemed to be stacked up against him however he pushed through a mountain of garbage and saved the day….that he ruined. It is pretty neat that he found such a tiny sentimental object amongst a pile of trash. I bet his wife is quite relieved.
