More and more young people are ditching the traditional lifestyle of graduating college and settling down. While this lifestyle still appeals to many people, others are pursuing what they want to do before planting down roots in a more permanent fashion. I personally think it is a great idea. It gives young adults a chance to really explore what they are passionate about, or do something that they could never do after settling down. One man, Sergi Basoli from Barcelona decided that he had enough of his job, and wanted to quit. So he did just that! He is an avid kayaker, so he made the goal of kayaking around the entire Mediterranean Sea, and he is doing it! He even picked up a stow away along his journey! He was an avid kayaker, so he decided the best course of action would be to kayak the entire Mediterranean Sea!
He usually camps along the shore. Everything he needs is stored on his kayak.
He even picked up a first mate! He found this dog at a local rescue shelter on his travels and he now cruises along with him wherever he goes.
The dog has adopted to the sea life incredibly well.
These two have become inseparable. Being on a kayak doesn’t allow for much separation in the first place however.
In total, Sergi has traveled over 5000 kilometers! It’s a mystery how long Sergi plans to keep traveling for.
I’m not even sure if he knows when he’ll stop.
With sunsets like this, I don’t know if I would ever give this life up.
I’ve always wanted to visit the Mediterranean Sea, and these pictures are only making it more apparent that I need to make that happen.
I’ll have to find a little friend to travel with me, because this kind of support would be much-needed.

This would definitely be the trip of a lifetime. I can’t imagine all the beautiful places that Sergi has seen along his travels. The sunsets he has captured put anything where I live to shame. Camping on the beach every night would be an absolute dream as well. The winter months would definitely be a struggle, but I feel like it would be oh so worth it in the summer months. Something similar to this trip is definitely on my bucket list….now I just have to learn how to kayak.
