A few weeks ago, daredevils Vadim Makharov and Ritaliy Raskalov were traveling through China. The intended pinnacle of their trip was to reach the top of the Shanghai Tower, a building only shorter than one other in the world. They planned their escapade to coincide with the Chinese New Year, so that fewer people would be around and security would be lax. Sneaking into the building, which is still under construction, they climbed 120 stories on foot. At the top, they slept and waited for good weather. Then they clambered out to the very end of the crane that sits on the roof.
Would you dare to go to the edge of this building?
I guess you have to stay warm somehow.
Just looking at these pictures makes my stomach turn a bit.
Wow, I wonder if there is glass in the middle of this or if that is just a straight drop?
Seriously…. this makes my head hurt!
They do this without any safety equipment.
And they just hope that they don’t get caught since they are technically trespassing.
It’s crazy they picked Chinese New Year to scale this building.
But if getting caught was a big factor, they were smart picking this time of the year.
How do they not suffer vertigo? I’d fall right over the edge.
Shanghai is a beautiful city from up above.
That’s a lot of people below them that have no idea these guys are very high above them.
They love to explore every city they visit.
Makharov and Raskalov are no strangers to pushing the limits. Here is a view from one of the bridges they’ve climbed.
They love to push the limits.
It is incredible what some people will do to get that adrenaline rush. Personally, I’d rather sit on a nice quiet lake, fishing and drinking beer. But good for them! Every day they are reminded that they are still alive and well.
