One of my favorite things about the internet is the unlimited amount of information right at my fingertips. I love coming across something that excites the mind and inspires the imagination. In an endless ocean of political rants, pointless memes and someone sharing entirely too much personal info can sometimes get rather dull so when I see something unique and educational, I light up. That’s exactly what happened when I came across these images that Reddit user -OctopusPrime shared. The comments are full of people who are simply blown away, intrigued and mainly fascinated. They posted a picture of a certain flower that I don’t think I’ve ever seen in person. The plant looks surprisingly like a group of hummingbirds feeding from the same stalk. The “hummingbirds” are actually the flowers of the plant. Take a look at this plant and let us know if you’ve ever seen anything like it.

There was a barrage of comments from people wanting to know why these flowers looked like birds. Of course there is always a genius who knows everything on every single internet thread.

Makes sense right…? Quite the unexpected rabbit hole I ended up in.

So is it just a big coincidence and we are perceiving it as something we can relate to?

Wait… There are no hummingbirds in Australia!?!?

Whatever the reason that these flowers in Australia look like hummingbirds that don’t even exist in Australia might forever be a mystery. Either way it is an awesome plant and that’s quite the coincidence that it looks so much like a bird that will have never seen this beautiful flower. Both existing on opposite ends of the world yet looking nearly identical. The world is a pretty unique place full of awe and mystery. This is one prime example.
