With just a few tools, some glue, and a box of colored pencils this guy just made something awesome and original that I know people are going to love! Take a look at what one guy’s imagination, creativity, and skill created. I want one!
It looks like it’s a bunch of pieces of perfectly placed clay fused together into an awesome ring but it’s much more simple than that and much more unique.
He started with a few supplies. The most important being his favorite colors of colored pencils.
He built a clean work surface and stacked the pencils so they wouldn’t collapse as they were all glued together. He wasn’t worried about any excess glue as it would later come off.
After the glue was completely dried, he used a drill bit to drill a hole the same size as his finger.
Using a band saw, he cut out the basic shape of a ring.
After the shape was made, the ring was placed on a wood lathe for some quick and easy final shaping and sanding.
After a few passes, the ring is completely symmetrical and round.
Starting with a heavy grit sand paper and working to a finer grit, the shape was born and the finish was perfect.

A few coats of lacquer and let it dry.
It’s amazing to see what this beautiful ring started as and the best part is one box of pencils will make a few rings.
Here is the finished project after shaping, sanding, and clear coating. A unique, original, easy to make, and beautiful ring.
This is easy to do at home even if you don’t have the power tools, it will just take a little extra time. A clamp and a hack saw will replace the band saw and you will have to spend a little more time sanding but still an easy task to accomplish for some beautiful homemade jewelry. It’s amazing to me that the most simple everyday objects can be turned into something that is so unique. With just a little creativity and some outside-the-box thinking you can come up with some awesome things just like this guy did.
