There’s nothing quite as relaxing as sitting in a bubbling hot tub under the stars with a glass of wine. Everyone loves relaxing in a hot tub after a long day or when we need to relax a little. Well there’s a group of friends who really love hot tubbing. I mean REALLY love hot tubbing. So much so that normal backyard hot tubbing doesn’t cut it anymore. In order to alleviate their hot tubbing needs they have taken their nice relaxing love of hot tubbing to new heights for something I like to call extreme hot tubbing. Take a look at this! Unless you’re scared of heights of course.
Once they found the perfect spot, they had to gear up for what they had planned next.
Lots and lots of gear.
And supplies, lots and lots of supplies.
They had to anchor their climbing ropes and lower each piece of material down off the side of an enormous bridge.
In order to have a hot tub, you need hot water. They’ve engineered some portable heaters that also needed to be lowered down but first they had to test the equipment.
They had to make sure their anchors were solid because what they are constructing is incredibly heavy.
Time to start heading down to do some work.
This was a long project so they brought some soup that they were able to heat up using their portable heaters.
The rigging for all this equipment was quite overwhelming but these guys are professionals when it comes to extreme hot tubbing.
Some of the bigger materials took a few people to lower due to the weight.
They lowered the materials down to the suspended crew who was assembling the pieces as the came down.
These things are actually collapsible walls and a tarp that they came up with just for this idea.
Here they are assembling the walls. They are all connected with climbing ropes to the bridge above for safety reasons. This is one dangerous job.
Here is a view from the mountain so you can see just how high up these extremists are!
Now to line the walls with the tarp and start to fill it with water. They lowered a hose all the way down.
Two climbers heading back up for more supplies. As you can guess these guys are getting quite exhausted by now assembling this but in the end it will be worth it.
By this time, the heaters have heated up the water to a nice warm temperature, which is a good thing because a few of these guys needed a break.
The black box to the right of the tub (above) is the heating unit. They kept it contained so their structure wouldn’t catch fire.

Extreme Hot Tubbing Party!
These guys are pretty adventurous.
It was one of the friend’s birthdays and what a perfect way to celebrate!
They all stayed harnessed in just in case something happened.
Can you imagine? I don’t think I could relax.
After a full days work it was time to clean up after the party, always the worst part. But it had to have been worth it. Who else can say they’ve done something like this?
I personally enjoy taking little risks here and there, and I’d like to consider myself somewhat of an extreme adventurer, however these guys just put me to shame with their extreme hot tubbing stunt. This is incredible and ridiculous at the same time. I can’t believe how much work this suspended hot tub took but in the end it was worth it because they got to relax somewhere nobody ever has before. I can’t imagine the feeling of sitting in a hot tub hundreds of feet in the air hanging by small ropes swaying in the breeze. My hat goes off to these guys.
