We have shown quite a few stories where people build secret rooms and other things, but how about one where people hide things right in plain view. Well that’s what this Imgur user did:
He started out with a painting that hung above his fireplace.

It was a 60″ x 36″ painting that he picked up at a local store.

He took down the painting and installed a TV bracket and drawer slides.

Followed by building a frame and drawer extension brackets.

He then tested it to make sure the frames slid easily.

The next step was to mount the TV behind the frame.

And then he double-checked to make sure the frames could close with the TV behind it.

His next step was to remove the painting from the current frame and cut it in half. Then he reframed the photo onto two individual frames that he quickly built. He put sticky sliders on the backside so it would slide across the wall.

And the finished project…

A TV that you can easily hide when you’re not watching it.

I think this is a genius DIY project. Many people don’t like the eye sore of a big TV and would prefer more artwork. He said this entire project only cost him $130, plus the TV and artwork.
