It’s been quite a week for Game of Thrones fans everywhere. Not because of the battle of Winterfell, but because of a small prop left in scene – a coffee cup.
Yes, even the production designer can (and did) make a mistake.
Here is the scene that caused the uproar from fans:

Well HBO has finally responded and admitted it was a mistake. “We’re sorry!” Executive producer Bernie Caulfield said.

Art director Hauke Richter told Variety, ” Things can get forgotten on set. [The coffee cup has been] so blown out of proportion [because] it has not happened with Thrones so far.”
Starbucks even responded:

Executive producer Bernadette Caulfield took a more apologetic tone and said she was shocked. “I can’t believe it,” she told WYNC. “Our on-set prop people and decorators are so on it one thousand percent. I just honestly can’t, I’m like, is that really? Because nowadays you can’t believe what you see because people can put things into a photo that really doesn’t exist. But I guess maybe it was there, I’m not sure. But, yeah. We’re sorry!”
Now that that’s over with it, enjoy the preview for this weeks upcoming episode below:
