Spending quality time with your family is one of the best things in the world to me. I absolutely love my family and would have no problem seeing them every day of my life if it was possible. In particular, my father and I are extremely close. I consider him my best friend. He has guided me my entire life, always there to give me sound advice or just an ear to listen when that’s what I needed. I imagine this is much the same relationship that imgur user Kespovic has with his father and grandfather. The 3 family members are from Norway, and decided that they wanted a place for the three of them to bond together. They also wanted to be the ones to build it. So they bought some property up by an absolutely beautiful mountain lake, and got to building a cabin. Check out their build and the amazing bond between the 3 of them below.
They started out by clearing the land. This excavator is digging out the side of this mountain to extend the useable land for the cabin.

The foundation has been laid and the walls start to go up.

The walls are up! You can see the basic footprint for the house at this point.

I’m not quite sure exactly what type of siding is. My best educated guess would be some type of mold resistant siding according to my friend in the construction industry..

The sides and roof are now weather-proofed.

Now it’s time for the finish siding to go up. I love the wood they used. It gives it a real authentic cabin look.

Grandfather on the left, and father on the right. It’s awesome that these three love spending so much time together.

Time to finish up shingling the roof. This was one of my most hated jobs as a teenager.

You really won’t find many better than this in the world.

The outside is complete!

A view from the front of the house. The whole landscape around this place is utterly gorgeous.

Now it was time to start the interior.

The light colored wood on the interior provides a great contrast with the dark on the exterior. The vaulted ceilings add a great tough as well.

The kitchen is slowly coming together. I would be catching fish from the lake and frying them up here every day.

What mountain cabin would be complete without a nice big backyard deck?

The kids in the family were able to provide this great stone wall as a Christmas present.

They installed grass when the weather turned right. This place looks absolutely great.

This place looks like my dream home in a dream location. Good for these guys for completing the project start to finish.

This cabin looks like a mountain getaway that anyone would be lucky to have. The experience of building it with his father and grandfather has to be just as, if not more rewarding than the actual house itself. It’s important to never underestimate quality time with your parents. As we get older, it can seem like a big hassle or inconvenience to make time for our parents. We should always remember though, once they’re gone, so are your opportunities. They won’t be around forever, and living with the guilt after they are gone would be incredibly. You don’t have to build a house with them, simple visits or a phone call can mean the world to them.
