There’s a new trend that is starting to surface which is out of this world. Not in a literal sense but one that is completely inspired by things that are literally out of this world. We’ve all seen the incredibly vibrant images released by NASA that show galaxies far far away. These galaxies are full of stars and different gasses that make up some of the most beautiful color combinations that any one person could ever come up with. Many of you would agree that the images of far off galaxies are entrancing and you could spend hours looking into them. The colors are vibrant and flow together seamlessly. Well, hair designers have taken to these images for inspiration to create a new trend that is fittingly called galaxy hair. Galaxy hair is an attempt by using a multitude of vibrant hair dye’s and fusing them together on one head of hair to mimic these incredible images from NASA. The process is a long, arduous and expensive one but the results are simply astounding. They take an intense color palette and follow a detailed process in order to fuse these colors together seamlessly recreating the most powerful images ever taken. I’m amazed at the results and I think you will be too. The process is long but the results are well worth it in my opinion. I hope this is a trend that sticks around for a while.
Take a look below and get inspired by these insane galaxy hairdo’s
The process is very difficult and should not be attempted at home. You might end up looking more like a pile of melted crayons than a beautiful galaxy.

Not to mention this process takes hours. As you can see, the results are incredible and well worth the time invested.

Because the colors are so vibrant, they do require frequent touch ups as the colors do fade.

This one is one of my favorites. This galaxy hair should actually be called Aurora Borealis hair. Either way, it is nothing short of stunning.

The deep purples mixed with an under layer of greens and blues create a unique color palette that you simply can’t stop staring at.

This one is incredibly vivid and contains a lot of colors that blend together almost seamlessly. I think Rainbow Bright would be jealous.

Another one of my favorites. Most people see colorful dyed hair and think of a punk or even classify brightly colored hair as trashy. The galaxy hair trend is breaking those stigmas with classy and beautiful colors mixed together in a uniform fashion almost anybody would be proud to show off.

Plus they’re inspired by some of the most beautiful things in the known universe so how could anyone hate this?

This one was inspired by an incredibly picturesque sunset. The colors flow from deep purple to fire orange perfectly.

The process is so meticulous and has to be done perfectly to get these results without looking like blobs of color that don’t blend together.

If you want a unique look this may be the one you need to add a little bit of color into your life.

Here is a small look into the process of creating galaxy hair. You can see just how much goes into this process. Not to mention, you can’t mess up or you will be left with a mess on your head.

All the hair has to be bleached before it can be colored. It’s the only way to bring out those incredibly deep and vibrant colors.

With vibrant hair dye comes fading. This happens every time you wash your hair so regular maintenance and touch ups are required to keep the vibrant look.

The end result is well worth it as you can see. These hairdo’s are truly unique and simply stunning.

Even when they are done a little more subtly the result is gorgeous.

There was a time when dying your hair a vibrant color was more of a rebellious act than a fashion statement. Just ask my mother… This new galaxy hair trend has completely shattered that stigma and proves that vibrant colored hair can be incredibly classy and beautiful. Inspired by galaxies and incredibly beautiful natural phenomena, this new hair trend is one I hope sticks around. Finding inspiration for these galaxy hairdo’s is very easy as well as limitless. There is so much beautiful color in the world and, thanks to NASA, galaxies far far away. These very talented hair dressers, or should I say hair artists, have recreated some of the most inspiring images you’ve ever seen right on your head.
Is this something you would do?
