Every single loving pet owner has the great desire to create the perfect family photo or Christmas card featuring their pride, joy and best friends! Of course Im talking about their furry friends. However, if you are a pet owner, you know that wrangling 1, 2, or even 3 animals for a picture can be a seemingly impossible task. Well we want to introduce you to Kathy Smith from Corwen, Wales. She has done the impossible and not only managed to get 3 animals to sit still, she got her 17 beloved pets to sit perfectly still for a photo. You read that right, 17! If I didn’t research it myself, I would have guessed it was Photoshop. Take a look at the photo below.
Kathy Smith lives with 17 animals in her 3 bedroom home in Wales. She says she lives in chaos but she is used to it now and wouldn’t have it any other way.
Kathy enlisted the help of her little cousin Billy to wrangle the 8 rescue dogs and herd the 9 rescue cats into the frame.
Kathy admits that it actually took many tries and a couple of days to get the photo. In this one, it looks like cousin Billy wasn’t ready.
Kathy takes in rescue animals who have nowhere else to go and gives them the love they so deserve.
We’re getting closer but we’re missing some of the cats. Her trick is treats, patience and repetition.
A bigger area should do the trick but how does one herd 9 cats for a photo!? They don’t have the saying “it’s as hard as herding cats” for no reason.
She did it!!! From back left to front right, meet the 17 rescue animals that Kathy has so generously opened her home to. Dinky, Jakie, opal, Paddy, Socks, Safi, Cinders, Dusty, Max, Sheba, Smokey, Storm, Ruby, Ben, Teddy, Rio and Mishka.
The smiles on Kathy and Billy’s faces say it all.
They have achieved the impossible and created the best family photo we could have hoped for. I can barely get my dog to hold still for a second let alone 17 animals. Cats though!? I swear if you ask a cat to do something it will do the exact opposite in spite of you every time. Kathy is wonderful with animals and has the patience of a Saint.
