We have all had employers who feel like they are entitled to taking full advantage of their employees. Sometimes it’s filling their time with tedious tasks, having them work overtime when it isn’t necessary, and in some cases, basically asking them to work for free. This selfish employer needed help with a project and decided to ask his employee to start on the new project. Based off this email, it seems like the boss doesn’t pay for completed work either. As the story goes on, it makes you wonder what type of relationship they have, or maybe had.
Doesn’t sound like too bad of a deal honestly, but let’s see what else was said.

Well I guess that explains a little bit here and there. Sounds like David is not too fond of Simon since he is still waiting for payment from a previous project.

Alright, so that’s why there wasn’t payment. Still doesn’t sound like either one of them should really be working with each other.

Well, that pretty much sums up their working relationship. I wonder how much longer David is going to have a job. My guess is not very much longer.

Simon seems to be really behind his up and coming idea!

I couldn’t help but laugh out loud at the idea of a child building a time machine which then in turn ended him up in bush. At least the nurse had a sense of humor.

Simon seems pretty sure on this idea. I wonder what the company name was for this project and if it transpired into anything at all.

David really loves his pie charts, doesn’t he?

David let this conversation go on and on, and Simon just kept taking the bait. I think I’m starting to understand both sides of the story. Simon is older and not as technologically advanced as he may think. Whereas David has the skills to create amazing logos and pie charts (as we’ve seen), but not longer wants to work with Simon as he doesn’t get paid for his work.

Nobody likes working for free.

I’m surprised Simon still thinks David is even partially interested in helping him out. Maybe he is a little clueless.

And here we are with another epic pie chart.

I wonder if Simon realizes that he’s the one that emailed David for help?

And there is David with the wonderful cordial ending.

And Simon has officially realized that David will not be helping him on this project.

This has to be one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen. It’s probably a good thing that they aren’t working on this project together. Imagine if the project actually did take off, David didn’t get paid, and then what? I don’t think Simon would like him much then either. Hopefully David didn’t let his smart aleck attitude get in the way of making millions, but I have a feeling the enjoyment he received from this conversation is payment enough. He pretty much got as much employee payback as he’s ever going to get from Simon, especially since this employee refuses to work for free.
