One of my favorite aspects about art and creativity is that the options are limitless. People are always taking things to new horizons, new levels. All forms of art inspire the imagination. I recently came across this artist who uses a very traditional art form but takes things to another level and her pieces are absolutely incredible. She is self-taught and her talents are being recognized worldwide. She has over 200k Instagram followers and she’s just getting started! She started posting her embroidery on her Instagram and people started asking if they could buy them. She figured, “why not.”
The artist, Shimunia uses vibrant colors and tiny details to create her masterpieces.

Each piece transports you into a landscape that seems too beautiful to be real. A dreamscape.

The embroidery pieces take between a week and a month to complete and every little detail makes these landscapes come together.

Her work is ever evolving and her talent is quickly growing.

She uses bright, vivid colors and they all go together seamlessly, creating a beautiful landscape.

For being on such a small surface there is so much depth, so much going on.

The 3D aspect of some of these makes them really special.

I’m guessing she sells out as soon as the projects are completed.

I’m going to try my hardest to get my hands on one of these. I love them!

For being so small, the imagery is so powerful.

I especially love the night-scapes. For being so dark, they really hold a lot of depth.

I imagine myself looking out into each of these landscapes. Putting myself right there among the colors.

Her fans are blown away by how simple, yet detailed her art is.

I especially love this one. It’s like the tree transforms into the night sky.

The simple color gradients in the clouds bring this landscapes to life.

I think that if anything was different, these wouldn’t come out as perfect as they are.

Her vision is what makes these so unique.

How many colors does she use in each one? There are so many here and they all fit perfectly.

It looks like you are looking at something that is miles wide and longer than you can make out. All within just a few small inches.

Another one of my favorites. I love the contrast shown here.

A true cotton-candy sky over a field of flowers is something everyone should experience.

Every one of her designs has its own feeling. Each one brings a different emotion.

The detail is what really makes these pop.

They really do look like vast landscapes. Like you’re looking through a spotting scope.

Her art started with just a desire to give it a try. She found out that she loved it immediately.

She said that her creativity and love for the final product are what keeps her going.

It’s amazing what a little thread and a needle can produce.

The 3D aspects are awesome. I wonder how she makes the thread pop like that.

They all remind me of a perfect scene that I’ve dreamt about visiting.

Having one of these on your wall can bring you to a special place every time you look at it and let your imagination run wild.

I wonder where she gets her inspiration for each landscape from.

I know Russia has some incredible landscapes. I wonder if she’s been to these places or if she just dreams of them.

Not many of them have snow so my guess is that these are places she dreams of going.

She uses a lot of gradient to incorporate the land at your feet all the way to the stars miles above.

She is from St.Petersburg, Russia and has been selling her designs since 2015. Taking nearly a month to complete, there is a high demand.

Another one of my favorites here. I love the oranges and blues together.

This reminds me of my many trips through the desert at night.

⠀ “My name is Vera (@shimunia) and I’m glad to see you here. Most of all I like drawing, but my brush is the needle.”

I would love to see what she could do with a huge canvas.

I never knew that this much detail was possible with thread in such a small space.

Especially when it comes to the puffy clouds that you just want to touch.

It’s amazing that you can pick out each individual flower in this vast field.

Little 3 inch perfect scenes anyone can escape into.

The distant rain storm in this one is amazing.

It’s easy to see why these sell out immediately.

I love that the single powerful cloud is the center of focus in this picture.

The 3D clouds are fan favorites around the world.

She recently did a giveaway on her Instagram and over 2,000 people entered to win one of her designs.

The amount of color in this sky is incredible!

This looks like the moon is one giant eye watching over the earth as it sleeps. Breathtaking.
