This Old Abandoned Amusement Park Is Quickly Being Overtaken By Nature

Here at Sliptalk, we love stories about urban exploration. There is something about being in a place that other humans haven’t set foot in for years that really gets our blood going. So many of these places produce fantastic photographs and stories, and this one is no different. In Sydney, there is a place called El Caballo Blanco. It was the name of a Spanish themed amusement park. The park has been closed for 16 years. A girl made a trip there in 2013 to see the abandoned place for herself. She decided to make another trip there before it is torn down to make room for a housing development. Check out the haunting photos she took.

Walking through this metal graveyard, you won’t find many buildings that are still standing. The ones you do however are most likely covered in graffiti.

Furniture is randomly scattered around the entire park. It makes you wonder how many people have come here since it’s been abandoned.

Some of the park was still in tact when the urban explorer visited in 2013. When she came back much of it was either destroyed or torn down for construction.

The photographer has very fond memories of this park. She used to visit with her grandmother when the park was in its prime during the 1980’s.

This place used to be full of smiling faces. Now it is all decay and distant memories.

The property the park used to sit on is now being turned into a housing development, along with a possible golf course.

It’s hard to imagine this place used to be a bustling family vacation spot. It’s sad that it was left to rot the way it was. The photographer is not happy that it is being demolished for a housing development. While I understand it must be hard to watch a part of your childhood disappear, using the land instead of letting it sit there is a much better use for it.
