One night while driving, a couple spotted what they thought was a black garbage bag blowing across the road. When they got closer, they saw that this black ball of fur was actually a scared, hungry, and dehydrated dog. What they did next is awesome!
This is the poor dog the night they found her.
They couldn’t even tell if it was a boy or a girl with the amount of dread locked hair on this dog.
The poor dog was scared to death and had to be in pain with the weight of all this hair.
They decided to take the dog to the vet to check for a microchip.
You could tell the dog was happy about this.
The dog did have a microchip but it wasn’t linked to any addresses or phone numbers.
The vet said that this was at least 2 years of hair growth without being brushed once.
They found dirt, dead bugs and garbage stuck in the poor dog’s hair.
The dog could barely even see.
The dreadlocks made it look like this dog was straight from Jamaica.
After a thorough cleaning and a good haircut this dog was a girl about 6-7 years old.
The dog could barely move before but now she could run and play.
She is much happier now that she has a family to take care of her.
She was named Marley because of the dread locks and loves to snuggle with the couple’s other dog.

It breaks my heart to know that some people can completely abandon their pets or show them a complete lack of care. I’m also hopeful that more people have the hearts like this couple that rescued this little girl and are now giving her the life she deserves.
Marley is still scared around people and loud noises but she’s getting better each day
