Cave diving is an extremely popular, and dangerous activity among the diving community. You don’t need to be very experienced to dive many caves, but there are certain ones that are known around the world as “expert level only caves”. The Blue Hole, located in the Gulf of Aqaba near Dahab, Egypt is one place that is strictly off-limits to everyone but the most seasoned cave divers. Unfortunately, not everyone heeds the warnings that are posted about this extremely difficult dive. There are many twists and turns, and a lot of places that lead to murky dead ends. Dozens of people every year who aren’t experienced enough attempt to make the difficult dive. It usually doesn’t end well. That’s what these divers caught on footage, while incredibly tragic, is not all that uncommon. It definitely had to be a sobering reminder of the risks even the most experienced and seasoned divers take every time they get in the water.
This would have been quite a shock for any one to find. It would have been a very real reminder that diving into caves like this is never a game, or a sport to be taken lightly. Cave diving takes a lot of skill and quite a bit of experience. Even divers who have been doing this for a long time still have to take extreme precautions to make sure this doesn’t happen to them. Unfortunately, the divers were not able to recover the human remains, and it is still unknown who this diver was.
