There is a wedding dress shop in Chihuahua, Mexico that has been quite famous for some time now. They are not known for what you would think though. They do sell wedding dresses and bridal attire. However most people visit the shop to seek truth and answers to an urban legend. There is a mannequin standing in the window, modeling dresses, that has been there for over 75 years. Her nickname is La Pascualita. The owner of the shop 75 years ago was Pascuala Esparza, hence the nickname.
La Pascualita is rumored to be the preserved body of the original shop owner’s daughter. You might not believe this is a real person from looking at the mannequin from afar, but come in a little closer for a better look and then decide.
The daughter of the original shop owner was bitten by a black widow on her wedding day and died. It is said that the mother wanted to preserve her beauty and keep her in the most beautiful dresses for eternity.
Some say she is just a wax figure however, many believe that these details wouldn’t be there if she was made 75 years ago. The advancement in wax sculpting hadn’t progressed that far at the time.
The original owner denied any claims that it was her daughter, but the rumor had spread far and no one believed her.
It is said that at night, La Pascualita will shift positions and her eyes will follow you wherever you move.
The details in the hands are what make people suspect that this is a real person who has been preserved. This is actually very creepy.
The fingernails and lines in the hands are what make this rumor so believable. The hands even have very tiny hairs, just as a real hand would.
Many locals consider La Pascualita to be a saint. People leave gifts for her and pray to her often.
The shop owner, and a few very trusted employees, are the only ones who get to undress and redress La Pascualita, so they are the only ones who know the real truth. The only way to find out for sure would be to head to Chihuahua, Mexico and take a look for yourself. What do you think? Although extremely creepy, I’d like to believe this is real after looking at those hands.
