If you’ve never heard of Cheng Yingjie (AKA Hua Tunan), you might want to get ready. This guy is absolutely incredible, and his talent is starting to be noticed by many big names in the art community. Hua Tunan combines two incredibly different artistic styles to create art that is truly one of a kind. I personally have never seen anything like it. The two styles of art he mixes together are traditional Chinese art, and western style graffiti art. They may not seem like something that would mix together particularly well, but the results that Hua Tunan produces will put all those thoughts to rest. Check out the amazing paintings he has created!
You can definitely feel both artistic influences that Tunan uses. I also love the use of paint splatter.

This gigantic mural was painted in Chicago. This had to have taken quite a long time but the detail is unreal.

This piece of art was actually featured in the Adidas Original Superstar Television commercial.

This amazing dragon was done in the city of Kumamoto, Japan.

The amount of detail he is able to attain from mere spray paint is astounding.

This painting almost has an animation looking quality.

You can see so many of the small, individual lines that were used to make the picture.

The smoke effect is extremely cool. It makes it look as if the tiger materialized out of thin air.

This is a sketch that Tunan had done.

Combining two completely different styles of art could not have been an easy task.

The amount of practice it must have taken to come up with techniques to allow this kinda of art much have been exhausting.

This thing looks like it could fly right off the canvas.

Talent like this is something that is only blessed to a very select group of people.

This mural was made to raise awareness for the protection of manta rays.

That’s the look of someone who is incredibly serious and proud about what he does.

These pieces of art are truly the combining of two worlds. I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone combine these two unique styles before. In fact, for someone to even have the thought of combining these two is pretty crazy. Then to develop all the techniques to make them look this good, that is quite an accomplishment. I will definitely be keeping an eye on this guy’s career to see what he does next.
