There are some friendships in this world that you wouldn’t expect in a million years but end up being the best thing in the world. Sometimes the most unlikely pairs are the best ones out there and this Chihuahua and a Pigeon prove that love has no boundaries. Animals are full of surprises and leave it to these two adorable animals to surprise everyone. The Chihuahua and the pigeon share a disability and have found comfort in each other’s company.
Lundy is a two-month-old Chihuahua who suffers from a damaged spinal cord. He was taken in by the Mia Foundation in New York.
The day he arrived, he was given a very warm welcome by Herman the pigeon. Herman has been at the foundation for some time because he is a flightless bird.
One of the staff members ”set Herman on a dog bed and started caring for Lundy, and I decided to carefully put Lundy in the same dog bed next to him. They started interacting immediately in a very cute way.”
Sue Rogers is the facilities founder and she said she placed the two in the same bed and they started to interact in a happy and playful way immediately. They have been inseparable since.
Sue started to wonder if Herman was actually a female pigeon because she was displaying a lot of mothering instincts. Whatever the truth is, they are best buds and don’t like to be apart.
These two unlikely companions show us that a close bond has no boundaries.
A bird who can’t fly and a dog who cant walk. If this isn’t a movie by next year I will be throwing my T.V. away.
Herman was rescued from a car dealership after some employees realized that it had been sitting on the pavement for 3 days and wouldn’t fly away. Experts said he couldn’t be treated and were ready to put him down. Sue stepped in and saved his life.
Herman had a room all to himself until Lundy came along. Herman was thrilled to share his space any they have been roommates ever since.
Lundy was born with “swimmers syndrome” which hinders his back legs from moving. These two are right at home together under the protection and care of Sue and the Mia Foundation.
Their favorite thing to do is snuggle in their white fluffy blanket together.
The Mia Foundation shared some images of the duo and the internet went wild with love for these two.

The internet immediately fell in love with the unlikely pair and no one is surprised. These two are adorable.
They look like the best snuggle buddies. That’s what I like to call a cuddle puddle.

The facility is going to start working with Lundy to see if they can’t get him walking eventually with the help of a chair and possibly some wheels. He has a long road to recovery ahead and Herman will be right there the entire time.
