There have been so many times where I wish I was a more creative person. Honestly, I’m lucky if I draw a stick figure man and you can tell what it is. But then there are other times I think a lot of people have too much time on their hands and they don’t always use it in the best of ways. They could be doing something so amazing with this extra time, but this story isn’t like that though. This man had a lot of time on his hands, 10 years to be exact, but he created something that is absolutely amazing.

For the last 10 years, American artist Ra Paulette has been walking alone in the New Mexico desert to work.

He spends his time carving a sandstone cave that he found.

Turning it into a wonderful space full of light.

Without anyone but his dog for company

Paulette creates different designs and styles for every cavern. His mind is his source for creativity.

Each section of the cave has very specific dimensions and textures.

The purpose of this gigantic artwork is to create an environment

That would inspire “spiritual renewal and personal well-being”.

It will also serve as a venue for artistic events once it’s finished.

Pictures do not do his work any justice as every inch of the place has very intricate details.

This is the location that houses his masterpiece. In this picture, you can see the extreme attention to detail that he gives each and every square inch of this cave.

Check out his documentary trailer of Ra Paulette’s work. It’s pretty amazing:
This artist has more patience and creativity than any person I have ever met. It’s no surprise that his work is now the talk of the internet. I am excited to see what type of events will be hosted there.
