Flying can be a scary situation for some. You’re up in the air, thousands of feet above ground. You’re buckled in as much as you can be, but when you are flying, there are a number of things that can go wrong. That being said, there are also a number of things that typically go right, resulting in a safe flight for everyone involved. This is one of those situations, well kind of. In this video, you’ll see pilot Romain Jantot who is a member of a flying club in Kourou, French Guiana. He is taking a woman up into the air, when he notices something that is a bit out of the ordinary. Just wait until you see this.
Typically a pre-flight check is done before flying, and it was done on this flight as well. Jantot said, “I still don’t know if it got in after the pre-flight check or if I missed it.” Everything goes pretty routine during take off. But about 38 seconds into the video, something appears on the left wing just to the left of the passenger that nobody was expecting. (right side of your screen)
Well hello there, kitty cat! This cat made it’s way from the left wing towards the passenger, looking a little bit nervous. I guess anyone would be if they were on the wing of an airplane without any safety equipment. After a few seconds the pilot notices that they have a feline passenger, and knows he needs to do something.
The pilot mentions to the passenger, “There’s a cat on the wing of my plane.” They both look up and see this cat holding on for dear life. As soon as they are both aware that they have a cat on board, the pilot starts to make his way back to the runway.
As soon as he makes a smooth landing, he starts to unbuckle himself before the plane even comes to a complete stop. The pilot jumps out and runs over to the cat. The cat just jumps down and goes on his merry way!

That poor cat was probably so terrified once it realized it was no longer on the ground, and its only hope for living a full life was to crawl slowly towards the center of the plane to alert the pilot and his passenger. I couldn’t even imagine! Well luckily cats have 9 lives, although the heart attack it may have experienced could have used up one of those lives. What a great way for this story to turn out because it definitely could have ended in a much more tragic way.
