Getting out into nature is one of my favorite activities. Connecting with the natural world is such a relaxing and eye-opening experience. Fishing is a hobby of mine that I really enjoy. If you’ve ever been fishing before, you know that there are many things you can end up catching other than fish. We all have that story about reeling in “the big one” and it turns out to be a bunch of weeds or an old boot. It’s always disappointing when you finally get that line reeled in and it turns out to be nothing but some old junk. Well while this group of people were out doing fishing, they got the surprise, and possibly scare of a lifetime. While pulling up a pool noodle, used as a fishing bobber, on his fishing kayak, this fisherman’s stomach about leapt out of his throat from the shock he got. He thought it was a catfish on the line, turns out it was something MUCH bigger.
I seriously let out an audible “Oh crap!” when that giant snout popped out of the water. It was one of the last things I expected to see at the end of a fishing line. Apparently while fishing in Louisiana, you have to be careful about what you are reeling in. There are plenty of reasons to visit Louisiana, but this scenario may be the ONE reason I need to never go.
