We live in an era where technology is at our fingertips, including smartphones such as the iPhone. But did you know that the iPhone actually has some really awesome (and free) things that you can do?
Here are 15 things that your iPhone can do that you didn’t know.
1. Go to Settings > General > Passcode Lock.
2. Turn off the setting that says “Simple Passcode.”
3. A screen will appear prompting you to change your passcode, along with a full QWERTY keyboard. The next time you unlock your phone, the keyboard will appear instead of just the number pad.
Tell Siri, “Read my email,” and she’ll oblige. You’ll hear the sender’s name, the date/time of the message, and the subject line. You can also instruct her to “read my latest email” or ask, “Do I have email from [person]?”
Viewing the time stamp of text messages is easy. Just touch and drag message bubbles to the left.
Ask Siri, “What flights are above me?” or just say, “Planes overhead,” and she’ll pull up a chart featuring each plane’s flight number, its altitude, and its angle.
We all do it. Change our mind about sending a text after you typed it up. Well, did you know that you can just shake your phone and the “undo typing” box will appear? Pretty awesome, right?
Just turn your phone horizontally for many more details and options in your calendar app.
This is one that I wish I knew about a long time ago. If you need to capitalize entire sentences or words, now you can do it without hitting the shift key before every letter. Note: if this isn’t working for you, go to Settings>General>Keyboard and make sure the Caps Lock is enabled.
Open your compass app and swipe left to access a level.
This is the best feature ever if you have kids and want to restrict what they download. Even more important, what they download within apps (Candy Crush level ups are expensive!)
Did you know that if you hold down the shutter button on your camera, it will activate “burst” mode? This means it will automatically take several photos in a rapid succession so that you’re guaranteed to get that perfect shot.
On your keyboard, when you hold down the dash, you will get a new menu of awesome dashes.
Instead of using the home bottom or touching the screen to snap a photo, just use the volume button.
This is a selfie-takers dream. Just plug in your headphones and press the center of the headphone button to take a photo when the camera app is open
Did you know that you can have different vibration patterns for different contact? Pretty cool, don’t you think?
Need to charge your phone, but don’t have a lot of time? Just put it in airplane mode to charge it twice as fast.
These 15 iPhone hacks are so simple, but yet so brilliant.
